When I was making my rounds to my typical news sites this morning I
came across an article on CNN.com in which Richard Branson, owner of
Virgin Group and multibillionaire, will donate $3 billion dollars over
the next ten years to combat global warming.

The Reuters news story quoted him "We
are very pleased today to be making a commitment to invest 100 percent
of all future proceeds to the Virgin Group from our transportation
interest, both our trains and airline businesses, into tackling global
warming," at a news conference at the Clinton Global
Initiative in New York.

A worthy cause to say the least.  We are faced with a serious problem
in the coming years as to how we will address the problem of global
climate change.  Branson is an example of one good idea to make changes
from the private sector and he is among many.

What we must do is change our individual habits and demand better
transportion and cleaner fuels.  With both of these changing the
overall impact would be significant in terms to the human affects of
global climate change.  Not only would energy demand be lower (as well
as prices), we would also rid ourselves of the poisonous emissions from
oil and gasoline that we have today.

We need to take our personal stands and change our habits  all the
while vocalizing our demands to energy companies and politicians.  Good
stewardship is a moral issues, it is a value that many of us share, and
it should be known
