The Faith of a Mustard Seed

The Faith of a Mustard Seed 2013-05-09T06:20:00-06:00

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth; anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.  Luke 18:16-17

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself,’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.   Mathew 22:37-40

The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.  Matthew 23:11-12

But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on the cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Do to others as you would have them do to you.  Luke 6: 27-31

The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you to do. But do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries wide and their tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues. Matthew 23: 3-6

I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put it into practice is like a man who built his house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.  Luke 6:47-49

Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven – for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.  Luke 7:44-47
