This is the True War on Terror; the battle begins not in some far away land. It begins in our very homes. The battle is not however exclusive to the United States, nor is it a product of modern society. It is a war as old as the history of humankind.

Only now, with the advent of mass media, and the feminist movement it has surfaced; its product the human stain.

NCANDS Summary

In 2004, an estimated 1,490 children in the United States died due to child abuse or neglect.  In contrast during the same year the United States suffered approximately 848 deaths in Iraq, according to http://www.antiwar.com/casualties/

For the Federal fiscal year 2004, an estimated 3 million children were alleged to have been abused or neglected and received investigations or assessments by State and local child protective services (CPS) agencies. Approximately 872,000 children were determined to be victims of child maltreatment. In contrast the United States forces have suffered a total wounded count of, (top count) 481,000 between March 19, 2003 and July 24, 2006.

Statistics from the United States clearly show the casualty rates from child abuse outnumber those from the "War on Terror" in Iraq.
