Im interested in opening a little debate as to the sufficiency of Scripture.
A posting in a recent blog caught my attention and I wanted to dig a bit deeper to see if this comment is more or less the thoughts of the average person of faith. This person stated they only believed Christs words as recorded in the Bible. Everything else was either inconsistant or translated poorly.
Question,
1) How do you handle Mt 4.4 ?
Question,
2)If indeed we are to follow Christs words we now need to look to
2 Tim 3:16, how does this in the context of Mt 4:4 ?
I choose to follow the doctrine of scripture as established by these two references. By doing so I have a firm foundation as to true Biblical principles.
The problem I see w/ doubting some scripture is how to choose what to follow and what not to follow. If I'm not going to follow a certain portion of scripture because I dont like it or dont trust it, how do I know this is ok?
What is then our test as "people of faith" to determine what scripture to follow and what not if not the whole of scripture?
