Spy Vs. Spy

Or maybe its Left Vs. Right or Democrat Vs. Republican or is it actually

liberal or conservative?  

     Back when I was growing up reading Mad magazine, one of my favorites was the spy vs. spy cartoon. Here, two spy's, one the black spy and the other the white spy,w/o the benefits of words would plot to destroy each other. Time and time again, outlandish plots would be hatched against the dreaded opponent. Sometimes success was glorious, while other times defeat was to rule the day as the master plot was foiled by a most skillful opponent. Of course as an adult, I can look back and begin to understand the subtle messages that could have been the artists intent. Was it reflective of the Cold War and the black spy was Russia with the white spy fighting for the USA? Could be, but its guess work to be sure. 

   For this quip, I'm thinking your color will be the White spy and the other guy gets the black spy. (I sure dont want to offend anybody by assigning the wrong color to their particular  religious or political affiliation) 

   Today the White spy has the War in Iraq in his sights and is planning on releasing some secret documents sure to hurt the Black spys efforts to "sell" the war.  Mean while, enter the Black spy plotting his own death blow to the White spy by appointing another Supreme court justice. And so it goes, day in and day out. NO forward progress for our country. Two spy's fighting the other to the death. So much for of the people, by the people and for the people.

   Now the church even has its black and white spy's. Most of the shots taken back and forth are for preferences. Here, on F.D most of the spy's efforts deal w/ political affiliations. God takes a back seat when we can take a good shot at the black spy's political affiliation. Funny thing about putting God the Father in the back seat.  God the Father who gives us everything we NEED. Yet we choose to be dissatisfied w/ the Black spy's boss. Don't forget, our Sovereign God put the man sitting in the Oval Office there. Regardless of who leads this country God is indeed in charge.

   Don't get caught in the trap of the spy's who will fight to death instead of trusting an Awesome God who will meet all of our needs if not our wants. Our God is the big G-god not the little g-god of the world. When your arming your white spy to go fight the black spy, remember, if the fight doesn't Glorify God, let God deal with it.
