The greatest threat to World Security is the Cycle of Hatred and Violence. When the cries of the children are ignored, and the weak exploited by the powerful, their tears turn to rage. This is why action is required in Darfur Now.
Take for example this statement from SaveDarfur
The Sudanese armed forces vowed on Monday to "crush" a coalition of rebel groups in Darfur for killing an officer whose helicopter had landed in north Darfur after a technical failure. "The armed forces, while condemning this brutal and treacherous act, vow that they will strike back twice as hard … and will crush those rebels,"
One crime against humanity, answered by another.
While the momentum of thousands of devoted activists has helped to spread the message of the crisis in Darfur, in the end, success for the people of Darfur cannot be measured by the number of rallies, the size of the crowds, or the prominence of the media coverage.
Success for the people of Darfur will be measured in lives saved, in rapes prevented, and in communities preserved and rebuilt.
