Risen isn’t the only Jesus movie coming out in the near future. The Young Messiah — which follows the journey of Jesus and his relatives from Egypt back to Nazareth when Jesus is only seven years old — comes out March 11, and the studio has released five new clips (via WingClips) to pique our interest. Check ’em out below the jump.
First, ‘The Fight’, in which Jesus and his female cousin (one of the “sisters” we hear about in the gospels, perhaps?) encounter some bullies in Alexandria:
Second, ‘Joining the Family’, in which Jesus asks his parents if an escaped slave can join the family and move to Nazareth with them “as a sister”:
Third, ‘The Question of a Child’, in which Joseph talks to Jesus:
Fourth, ‘The Decision’, in which the centurion played by Sean Bean confronts Jesus in the Temple, while the Satan figure watches from a distance:
Finally, ‘The Story’, in which Mary finally tells Jesus where he came from:
One of the film’s official websites has posted several videos in which various church leaders (including Patheos blogger Sr Rose Pacatte) discuss these scenes.
