Pre-Existing Conditions

Pre-Existing Conditions

If you breathe oxygen, you have a pre-existing condition. We all have a sin nature that we inherited from the first humans. And the spectrum of sinful tendencies that arise from that nature is endless. Yet no temptation that you have hasn’t been experienced by others, so you’re not alone. And there is always “the way of escape” (as Paul put it). Just look for it, then take it.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. ~ 1 Corinthians 10:13

Jesus was the only human being who did not have the pre-existing condition of sin. He was tempted in every way that we are, yet He never succumbed. And He has given us His Spirit. The same Spirit He lived by when He was on earth.

In Revise Us Again, I address numerous “pre-existing conditions” that Christians have which are rarely talked about, along with their remedies. Unfortunately, the biblical reality of transformation and being formed into Christ’s image is of little interest to countless Christians today. They’d rather learn about the anatomy of heaven or hell in the afterlife.

This is one of the reasons why the body of Christ is in such sad shape today, having very little impact on the world.

Thankfully, God is raising up a tribe of followers who are deeply interested in transformation and understand that the kingdom of God depends upon His children being “changed into His likeness.”
