Numbers 33: Record the Journey

Here are the stages in the journey of the Israelites when they came out of Egypt by divisions under the leadership of Moses and Aaron.At the Lord’s command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. -Numbers 33:1-2

What would we now know about Moses and the freedom of Israel from Egypt if Moses had not recorded the details of the journey? At the Lord’s command, he recorded the stages of their journey and much more. Still today, we find help and encouragement from their steps long ago.

There is a lesson to be observed in the recorded journey of Moses. We have a journey to record as well. Do you journal? Have you? I recently had the opportunity to read some of my mom’s journals from when I was a kid. Memories long forgotten returned, lessons relearned, emotions rekindled. Why? I had experienced a record of the journey.

As you live for God today, take a moment to record what God does. Looking back years from now, you’ll not only remember the journey; you’ll also learn from it.
