Judges 2: The Legacy of Godly Leadership

Judges 2: The Legacy of Godly Leadership October 23, 2012

“The people served the Lord throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had seen all the great things the Lord had done for Israel.” -Judges 2:7

When one person lives for God, a generation can be changed. In Joshua’s case, his godly life left a legacy that resulted in the entire nation of Israel living for the Lord throughout his generation and those elders who outlived him.

Judges is a book that typically focused on the falling away of God’s people in to rebellion, along with the cycle of repentance and rescue by the Lord. But many miss the positive aspect mentioned in Judges 2 regarding Joshua’s impact. His life changed the lives of many.

Sometimes we think what we do today doesn’t really matter much. But it does! How many people will be positively impacted by the way you live for Christ today? This is a question to ask yourself daily. Your life is not a matter of choosing what is most convenient of self-fulfilling. Your choices will leave a legacy for years to come upon your family, friends, and many others. The stakes are high. Don’t waste your opportunity. Live with the mindset of legacy today.
