2 Chronicles 21: God Is Faithful to His Promises

2 Chronicles 21: God Is Faithful to His Promises 2013-07-05T09:10:52-04:00

“Nevertheless, because of the covenant the Lord had made with David, the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David.” -2 Chronicles 21:7

Despite the sin of David’s descendants, God refused to reject them completely. While we who read the words of Scripture wonder why God would not wipe out wicked kings and start again, God offers a beautiful picture of grace in action through his faithfulness to his promises.

Still today, we discover this important truth–God loves us despite our sins.

We do not deserve his love, his mercy, or his grace. They are gifts. We can reject or receive them. What we cannot do is change them. God changes us through them, turning us into examples of his redeeming power in everyday life.

Today, when you see the sin of your life seeking to win, remember: God’s promises will endure. He will remain faithful, even when we are not. Trust in his goodness. Follow his ways. Drink deeply of his love.
