because it’s raining pretty hard here

because it’s raining pretty hard here 2022-08-04T20:39:51-04:00

Anyone who can and wants to dig deep enough can uncover anything about anyone in particular these days. There are major global tradeoffs going on at the moment with key agents who are on the world stage so to speak, if the news sources are offering correct information and not simply propaganda or a smoke screen. There could be exorbitant amounts of time needed to find out about some people because they’re difficult to trace.

Then there is newsworthy material. Sometimes it really is good to look into outside newsources. I guess I could start with the BBC, covering all of the UK I imagine.

There are other press releases from global alliances.

There are other well-respected global newsources, etc.

apart from tracking people or good sources, some people can track easily

Some people can track easily on different levels for various factors.

Maybe it’s all they do everyday as an occupation.

Perhaps they really have nothing better to do, so they read up on people, currents, places, etc.

I guess we all realize there are certain levels of clearance in about every field, educational circles, etc.

I was ministering as a pastor and realized all of my files had no real lock. People were reading my materials, anyone who had access to the office and/or intranet. This was a little disconcerting at first, but I did wind up sort of coming to terms with the ideal, especially as presented by key parishioners and leaders who were forthright with me… to a certain extent.

there seems to be a rationale

In our age, there seems to be a real necessity for this type of trust within businesses because people are usually the vested interest that is of greatest import (for profit or non-profit). Furthermore, we can all think of scandals involving communications gone awry.

A good example is people who have great experiences with different languages. Then there are those who have been codebreakers, but I guess they’re been available for various nations through history. I really don’t want get into anything like this, although it is a decent example of the necessity for a higher level of communications.

The rationale breaks up if communications are used by groups within groups per se for unethical reasons. Although I hate speaking to war (i.e. codebreakers) there is jus in bello, which I kind of agree with, so communications can be altered in such times. I’m often a realist in such cases, not necessarily anything to do with a political party. My line of thought is often based on what Biblical interpretation I can understand about communications in the storms facing the world. However, there are often plenty of grey areas to such communications. Nonetheless, jus in bello seems to be the closest philosophy of war (including the rationales above for higher forms of communication) I align with.

is there a similar Biblical line of thought?

Well, I’m not sure we can uncover anything about technological advances in our day within the pages of Scripture. The comparisons between Genesis 11 and Acts 2 have already gone through the meat grinder of higher scholarship, now and in extant writings.

The Bible does not speak of communications in the 21st Century, the answer is not easily found, and Biblical principles do not easily correspond, unfortunately.

In fact, since the opening of this can of worms, this pandora’s box (I honestly guess since Desert Storm and/or the Patriot Act) we have seen countless communication freeways yield like Bell Telephone had to decades before.

Although I may agree with some war-time communications I’m aware of, I have wondered if we’re not witnessing something like unreasonable searches, something we fought so hard against. Unreasonable searches of communications would certainly demean the dignity of man, which is a Biblical principle our nation adopted from the outset. If you’ve read so far, I certainly hope you don’t stop here, mentally check out for one reason or another, writing me out with a thought like I’ll get back to this in just a minuteman….

what we are facing today can be very disheartening

As stated above, I wonder if the latest item in the news isn’t merely an agreed upon smoke screen for other things, or to make us forget what occurred yesterday or last week, or earlier this summer.

There are other types of news to consider besides clickbait. I watched some of the college playoffs and World Series, but I have basically fasted from the MLB this year, offloaded the app. For those who know me well, that’s a major commitment. I admit the 1/2 game difference between the Twin Cities and Milwaukee piqued my interest within the last couple weeks but I’m really not following anybody at all.

It’s disheartening. It’s all clickbait at times. People are enjoying and living their lives, maybe with an aire of curiosity, but as I’ve stated before (if not in writing): if I was going to revisit my ethics series, I may very well begin with Koheleth, no matter what anybody says about the writings.

He or she watches with a tremendous Biblical perspective in my opinion, and answers deep questions.

he or she address in principle one factor I’m considering now

The factor is people are busy in life with necessities. Often everything they’re doing is completely justifiable. However, the engine of the world moves along, perhaps on a remarkably even keel today.

Then there are times on the cusp of a new season that is about to spring forth. Apparently, these can be turbulent times, and I’m not simply talking about the weather. However, to go together with the analogy, I realize there are still natural catastrophes or what used to be called an “act of God.”

Even now, there are terrible rains and fires in certain parts of the country, and this is not uncommon because it’s raining pretty hard here.

I’m not really sure I need to apply a word picture that can easily be applied quickly in multiple ways in real time as you’re reading.

again, are your communications being sourced out?

Is your information and communications protected?

I really don’t know. I’m in the hunt today for a browser that is reliable from foreign soil. It’s just an experiment.

I am looking toward common alliances if you must know. There are other decent browsers not made in America, and not from nations we really aren’t on speaking terms with. I don’t want to surrender any of my communications to peoples/nations who could be at odds with us.

How are your lines of communication working for you?

You may say I don’t have a work phone. There are plenty of ways to communicate and people to communicate with, usually. Being isolated is never fun though, especially in the last couple years.

Perhaps you can say, I have your work phone. Of course this is beneficial for people you need to reach. Is it an urban myth that there’s a red phone in the Oval Office, simply meaning it’s a hotline, a direct hotline? I guess a work number can serve a similar purpose, if not on such a grand scale.

In other forms of communications, how many news sources do you have? Where in the world are they located? Are you at ease once you send, share (even without your knowledge), and/or receive news or communications?

how valuable is communication sharing to you or.. what’s o.k. to take in?

In my opinion, this is how Koheleth writes and the type of open-ended content in the writings, and I am a fan. The only thing I’m quite jealous of is Koheleth can often convey the same meaning using far fewer words; actually love Koheleth beyond jealousy. There are plenty of other examples in Kohelth’s works, examples you can easily uncover. This is one example I have chosen of the world-renowned writer/teacher; a bifurcation easy to apply. Please don’t track the name down and start launching into the work because some think it’s a little long; another by-product is it’s intense.
