Educators, ahem “educrats,” are convinced that if we do group projects in class students will learn the kind of cooperation that is needed in the business world. I don’t mind some in-class “buzz groups” to get students talking about texts, and I do permit students to do one of my Jesus class assignments as a group — as long as each one turns in the assignment — but I also hear lots of complaints about group projects.
First, do you think group projects are beneficial?
Second, for those of you who have been through this educational experience, what do you have to say?
