Walk4Water March 22, 2012

Some of you know, perhaps from reading my One.Life, that some of our North Park students are involved in or on a 7000 mile walk from Cape Town to north Africa in an effort to raise money for water. March 22 is World Water Day… so here is an announcement and an offer from Amy Russell. Consider this my invitation to you to drink water and to join us in supporting the raising of funds for water for those who need it most.

7 dollars. 7 days of water. 7 friends. Water for our world’s needy.

On March 22, Walking4Water will be launching the Give 7 Challenge in celebration of World Water Day and reaching 700 miles walked of the 7000-mile total. The Give 7 Challenge is a great way to join the Walking4Water team in bringing clean water to the 1 billion people on earth who don’t currently have access to safe water. It’s fun, it’s easy, and it comes with prizes! Each person who takes the challenge will be entered into a raffle to win a free Walking4Water “I heart water” T-shirt (as seen here:http://walk4water.spreadshirt.com/)! The Give 7 Challenge will ask participants to do three simple things.

1.      GIVE 7 DAYS: Drink only water for seven days.

2.      INVITE 7 FRIENDS: Get seven friends to take the challenge too.

3.      GIVE $7: Make a $7 donation to the Give 7 Challenge Campaign (www.mycharitywater.org/give7challenge<http://www.mycharitywater.org/give7challenge>).  These funds go directly to charity:water for sustainable clean water projects.

The goal is to get at least one person to take the challenge for every mile walked so far.  If 700 people take the challenge, we will raise $4900-almost enough to pay for one clean water project in its entirety! 7000 people would pay for nearly ten projects, with each project providing water for 250 people!

$7 has the potential to make a HUGE IMPACT, but we need help to get as many people as possible involved!
