A Prayer

I like this prayer:
Almighty and everlasting God, increase in me the gifts of faith, hope, and charity; and, that I may obtain what you promise, make me love what you command; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.â€

I understand “make me love” to mean “create in me” or “guide me to love.”
