My current favorite album – and a GIVEAWAY!

I love music.

I’m almost always listening to something, even if it’s just background music while I do household chores. Isn’t it such a sweet thing how the Lord designed music? It can take our hearts places that mere words simply cannot. Listen to one of Beethoven’s Symphonies. Words fall short, but the notes strung perfectly together can move you to tears.

Over the past few months, one particular album has been on repeat.

The Art of Celebration – Rend Collective 

This Irish band exudes joy. Check out this video to hear the band discuss more about their new album and where the title, “The Art of Celebration” comes from.(If nothing else, their accents are enough to watch the video!) My favorite quote from them is the following:

Their music style is folksy, combining banjos, guitars and host of other instruments.

I am constantly in pursuit of greater joy. John Piper first introduced me to the concept of Christian Hedonism in his book, “Desiring God”.  (Read a condensed introduction to Christian Hedonism here)

Christian Hedonism – Pursuing the highest good (God’s glory) will always result in our greatest joy in the end.

I started The Joy Project in order to keep track of my daily joys, and reasons to be thankful to the Lord.

Rend Collective does a wonderful job pressing into joy and seeking to bring the listener to greater joy!
