We Must Oppose Trump To Protect Our Democracy
I have been an independent voter all of my life. I always voted for Republican presidents until Barack Obama. IMO, the Republican Party is not what it used to be and is now the Trump Party. Donald Trump is the biggest liar I have ever seen in my lifetime.
He told Billy Bush that telling people lies that you want them to believe is his modus operandi. Billy Bush, cousin of former U.S. President George W. Bush, told Bill Maher on his TV program that when the camera was off concerning the Access Hollywood tapes, Trump said, “Billy, look, you just tell them and they believe it. That’s it: you just tell them and they believe. They just do.”
I suspect that Donald Trump is the worst president the U.S. has ever had and that because of him the U.S. is in danger of losing its democracy. Donald Trump is a con artist who has created a cult following. But he can be stopped if people do their part in standing up to this bully, opposing him like the “No Kings” rallies that drew millions in one day recently.
Donald Trump has been weaponizing the Justice department and FBI against his political enemies, which is not the American way but the way of an autocrat. Trump has idolized dictators, such as Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump talks about being president a third term even which is against the Constitution. During Trump’s first year as president, in 2017, I blogged that he did not believe in our democracy and therefore our Constitution even though he swore an oath, as all presidents must do, to uphold it.
Trump: “America First;” Jesus: First Will Be Last
Trump’s “America First” policy is the exact opposite of the teaching of Jesus, who said, “Many who are first will be last, and the last will be first. … So the last will be first, and the first will be last” (Matthew 19.30; 20.16 NRSV). Jesus meant that anyone who lifts themself up in pride, claiming to be the smartest, or the greatest, such as Trump’s motto on his cap he wore earlier this year, “Trump Was Right About Everything,” will in the end be last, the exact opposite of what was first claimed. California Governor’s Wife Sounds Off on Trump
On October 8, IMO, the wife of California Governor Gavin Newsome sounded off brilliantly about President Donald Trump, holding nothing back. She said Trump is a bully, greedy, and thus a terrible role model. Here is some of what the Hollywood actor and filmmaker Jennifer Siebel Newsome had to say about Donald Trump:
“He is the exact opposite of what strength looks like.”
She said it is important for her and Gavin to teach their children to get adult help against bullies and “always, “always, tell the truth.”
“Trump is enriching his immediate family and cronies. He is stripping away our rights and our democracy. When he knows he’s going to lose, he cheats. When the game isn’t rigged for him, he rigs it himself.”
“He’s a con artist, a predator, a malignant narcissist in chief, and the worst president in our nation’s history.”
I agree with wholeheartedly with all of this.
