You must realize that nothing—absolutely nothing—in your life is an accident. Read more

During my early days of serving God, I remember being asked to share my testimony for the first time. This was one of the very first ministry assignments I ever had. It was in North India, and I was hardly 17 years old. I walked up to the podium and just stood there. I don’t know what exactly I said, but it was only about three or four words, and then I ran back and sat down. I had prepared... Read more

For many of us, it is nearly impossible to picture ourselves as servants or slaves of a supreme ruler. We live in a time and culture in which we are basically the architects and masters of our own lives. Read more

“For God so loved the world . . .” (John 3:16). When we read this verse, we immediately realize that God’s love is absolutely different from ours. Read more

What is it you want from your life? What is it I want from my life? Is it with as much zeal as we can muster, to go and reach those who don’t know of God’s love and to touch and reach those who are in need? Read more

While Jesus was on earth, He could have done all sorts of fantastic things. He could have built buildings that would have made the buildings of the Roman Empire look insignificant. He could have opened a university and taught science to the smartest scholars from every nation. He could have drawn in the largest crowd the world had ever seen. He could have healed all the sick people on earth and cleared out every hospital. He could have sent out... Read more

I recently visited a Gospel for Asia (GFA)-supported Bridge of Hope center and got to see the children enrolled there. It was such a joy to see the smiles on their faces and the difference that’s being made in their lives. I am so grateful that there are 82,000 children across Asia in GFA-supported Bridge of Hope centers like this one. These children are helped with their education so they can one day get a good job and afford sufficient... Read more

Christmas and Advent are my favorite times of the year. I’m so glad this season lasts for a whole month and not just one day. Everything about this season reminds us of Christ. It seems like no matter where you go, His name is being sung on the radio, or seen in the greeting cards, or even just spoken out loud from the store clerk with a simple, “Merry Christmas!” Growing up in South Asia, I remember how Christmas was... Read more

Many years ago, I picked up a news magazine from my desk, and as I turned the pages, a disturbing picture grabbed my attention. The photograph showed a severely malnourished African woman sitting on the dirt floor of her hut, holding two tiny infants in her arms. She was literally skin and bones. Her eyes had sunk into their sockets, her stomach was caved in and her ribs were sticking out. Please take a minute to look online at pictures of starvation in Africa. You will find just the kinds of picture I was looking at. It was heartbreaking. But there was more to her story. She was staring in despair at her almost lifeless looking babies, as if... Read more

Sometimes, I think we have this expectation that spirituality should be instant, like putting something into a microwave. We press a button and out comes a steaming hot cup of tea in just a few seconds. We want everything to work that quickly. The Christian life simply is not like that. Think about it. Take prayer for example. How do we learn to pray? We can read books like Power through Prayer by E.M. Bounds and God’s Chosen Fast by... Read more
