Greg Willits & Catholics Next Door Begin a New Adventure

Those sighs you hear resonating across the country from devoted listeners of Sirius XM’s The Catholic Channel are a reaction to today’s big news that tomorrow will be the last episode of the channel’s popular show The Catholics Next Door. Listeners will be tuning in one last time tomorrow to hear co-hosts Greg and Jennifer Willits enjoy a last few hours of what’s been billed as the “world’s first Catholic reality show”.

As a fan of the show and a friend of the Greg and Jennifer, I have mixed feelings. I will definitely miss their presence on the airwaves (actually, I’ve already been missing Jennifer as she’s shifted toward reduced airtime to care for their children).

But I’m actually also excited to help spread the good news about GregWillits.com — Greg’s headquarters for his consultancy to serve as a New Media specialist and expert for entities around the country. Along with helping the Church to grow its use of emerging technologies, Greg will also be speaking around the country and writing new books. His next project, The New Evangelization and You: Be Not Afraid, is set to release in May 2013 and looks terrific.

Change is sometimes challenging, but listeners like me who have tuned into Greg and Jennifer’s work for several years now will weather this transition as we pray for the Willits family.
