I have to say that I can’t think of a more perfect title and cover than the one unveiled today by my friend Fr. Roderick Vonhögen of SQPN. Geekpriest: Confessions of a New Media Pioneer launches in September, but I already had a sneak peek at the manuscript and I can tell you it’s a winner. I spent the weekend channeling my inner Father Roderick. As I read this page turner, I couldn’t help but hear my friend’s weird Dutch-accent-laden English voice reading aloud to me.
I’ve been listening to my podcasting mentor for many years now. I know the lilt of his voice when he’s smiling inside and the way his heart pours out when he’s discussing a serious subject. I was thrilled to find that this same voice — of holiness, but also of fun — pours through in Geekpriest. You’ll have the chance to discover this for yourself when the book launches in September.
But until then, let’s enjoy and celebrate the first ever theological primer sporting a light-saber-wielding priest. Too cool!
