Since I’ve spent over eight years serving in a part time and volunteer capacity at my parish as the webmaster, I know firsthand both the vast potential and the difficult perils that face parishes hoping to embrace social media in the New Evangelization. Here at the blog, I have the facility to be vastly more nimble in my decision making and implementation than I can in our parish setting. Yet this does not mean that my parish is doomed to... Read more

Need some convincing? Watch this lovely video and I think you’ll agree with me that this is not... Read more

I did a radio segment this morning about the Extraordinary Synod on the Family, currently ongoing at the Vatican. In preparation for the segment, I reached out to a few groups of friends both online and in “real life” to ask if they were watching the Synod. I was a bit surprised by their answers. Some had no idea what I was talking about. Some said they were intentionally not tuning in for a variety of reasons. Some answered with... Read more

This weekend, I get to take a trip with my college sweetheart (and hubby) back to the place where we fell in love. The excuse for our excursion may be the tickets we’re holding to see Notre Dame defeat Stanford (we hope!) on the gridiron, but while we’re on campus we’ll revisit many places that are dear to us. In the few hours before and after the game, we’ll definitely visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, the Grotto and the... Read more

From Patti Armstrong this week at National Catholic Register comes important information on legislations in that states of Tennessee and North Dakota which could quickly establish unrestricted abortion in those states. Armstrong writes in part: Tennessee and North Dakota are launching a counteroffensive in the battle for life that could reverberate across the country. Both have ballot measures Nov. 4 that seek to protect their constitutions from the kind of pro-abortion activism that has eviscerated pro-life regulations in a dozen states.... Read more
