We told you Wednesday about your invitation to see God Loves Uganda, and we linked to the trailer so you could check it out for yourself. From the God Loves Uganda site:  God Loves Uganda explores the role of the American evangelical movement in Uganda, where American missionaries have been credited with both creating schools and hospitals and promoting dangerous religious bigotry. Warren Perry is the Aquatics Director at the Greenwich Water Club outside New York City, where he coaches swimmers, rowers, and triathletes. He also serves as a color commentator and analyst for the Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming Championships. It hasn’t always been this way. Walking on to the deck of this year’s Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming Championships, I take a few moments to greet the coaches, swimmers, and officials on my way to the Broadcaster’s Table. It’s been ten years... Read more

The following post is from Brent Bailey, a Master of Divinity student at Abilene Christian University. Brent. You can find his blog at oddmanout.net. One of many “Aha!” moments for me working with The Marin Foundation this summer was when Kevin brought to my attention the difference between transparency and vulnerability, two words I had been using synonymously. Whereas I employed both words to mean something like “the opposite of hiding or secrecy,” they actually each represent different approaches to sharing parts... Read more

Hello Everyone, As you can see we haven’t been posting much in the past few weeks. With the transition fast approaching, and the writing of this book and this book, blogging has taken a backseat at The Marin Foundation as we are all working to adjust to our new roles and reality. I’m feeling great about the transition, and very excited for what the future holds. We will pick up our regular Monday, Wednesday, Friday blogging schedule again, starting September... Read more

For our upcoming Living in the Tension gathering on Monday, August 26, we will be watching the documentary We Were Here. The documentary tells the story of the arrival and impact of AIDS in San Francisco, specifically focusing on the lives of five individuals who were affected by the epidemic. It is not only a window into the suffering and loss experienced by the gay community at that time, but an inspiring testament to the resiliency, sense of community and compassion that... Read more

We will be participating in the AIDS Run & Walk Chicago for the third year on September, 28th. We would love to have anyone in the Chicagoland area (or even those that would like to travel in for the weekend) join our team with The Marin Foundation for a great time to hang out, exercise, and support the great work that the AIDS Foundation of Chicago is doing. The proceeds go to benefit their work in fighting against HIV/AIDS and improving the lives of people affected... Read more
