I am giving a lecture tonight at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL starting at 8pm. It’s closed to the public, sorry about that. But I will see if I can get an audio recording or something after the fact and post it. As always, non-Christian college campuses are some of my most favorite places to teach because it’s like an intensified mini-world all wrapped up in one enclosed location! I’m really looking forward to tonight. Much love. www.themarinfoundation.org Read more

Mark 6:34; 8:2-3 Well meaning Christians often stifle the potential of God’s miraculous works to be seen in full. Mark 6:35-37 Much love. www.themarinfoundation.org Read more

Here is the link to the article I just wrote for Religion Dispatches. It’s a counter commentary to Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council, who wrote a guest article for the Washington Post. People need to know that not just LGBT people are tired of the same negative generalizations that only stir up further dissent. I was offended by his article, and I hope my article brings justice to the conversation. Much love. www.themarinfoundation.org Read more

What is My One Sentence Bible? 10-19-10: When people can’t grasp you or what you’re all about, they automatically take offense against you. That’s on them, not you. Mark 6:2-3 Grassroots ‘Movements of the Way’ will get recognized no matter the lack of structured publicity. It’s up to others to believe or deny the rumors that come with it. Mark 6:14-16 There are two types of haters: Ones that loathe you no matter what, and ones that fear you will... Read more

This morning I woke up and had four Facebook postings on my wall waiting for me, all from a guy who said following (and yes, these are the actual messages): “You are a false prophet leading others into hell. Everyone needs to turn away from Andrew Marin now. The Lord is coming and will not have mercy on Andrew’s soul.” “Andrew Marin is afraid of the truth. He took down a post that I posted on his wall by John... Read more

What is My One Sentence Bible? 10-18-10: Jesus speaking to the demons, with Authority, still treated them with dignity. Mark 5:9-13 Death brings even enemies to their knees asking Jesus for help. Mark 5:21-24 Don’t be afraid of what everyone else sees as impossible and then laughs at you because of it. Just continue to believe. Mark 5:35-42 Much love. www.themarinfoundation.org Read more

According to MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, someone is killed by a drunk driver every 40 seconds! Every 40 frikin seconds! I have had 2 people very, very close to me get killed by drunk drivers. And yesterday, October 17th, was the 13th anniversary of one of my best friends, Alli Matzdorf, who was killed by a drunk driver when we were only 16 years old. Please don’t ask me what it was like to carry the casket of a best... Read more

This morning I had a regularly scheduled six month follow-up with my dermatologist. No big deal. I just needed some refills for a prescription I’ve been taking for acne. Close to the end of our time I remembered to ask her about a strange red bump that has been on the top of my right big toe for about five months. Here’s the story: This past Spring I woke up one morning and saw a big red bump on my big... Read more

Here is the link that Ron Sider, President of Evangelicals for Social Action, a professor and director of the Sider Center on Ministry and Public Policy at Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, wrote on Jim Wallis’ really well read blog about my book. He gave some praises as well as some critiques. I thought it was an interesting article. What do you all think? Any questions for me about what he wrote? Much love. www.themarinfoundation.org Read more
