Georgia on My Mind

From March 2-30, I will be in the town that inspired this great song (and gives me an excuse to put Ella the Great on my blog:

Yep, I will be in Savannah, GA filming (at long last) Manalive and attempting not to suck at acting.

This means several things.

First, as a freelancer, my income comes from sitting at a computer writing stuff, which I will not be doing for a solid month. So I am going to do my Spring Tin Cup Rattle starting next week in an attempt to tide us over and makes ends meet, especially with taxes coming due in April.

Second, In another attempt to make sure my family has a house and food while I’m gone, I’m alerting folks who are in the Savannah area that, if they want to get me to come speak for them at remarkably cheap rates (as in “You won’t have to cover airfare or, at most, a minimal local hop from Savannah to your town”) now’s the time to set something up. I promise you a fun and informative evening on something related to the Catholic Faith. The catch: it will likely need to be on a Sunday because Monday through Saturday I belong to the Moonhunt Productions and to the role of Innocent Smith.

Third, If you *are* interested in me coming to speak, then a) you need to go here and choose what you’d like me to speak about and then contact me before next Thursday so we can get the travel arranged between Savannah and wherever it is you are.

Fourth, I am still hoping to have the price info on Mary, Mother of the Son from Catholic Answers soon. As soon as I do, I will make it (and a link to order) available to all y’all. At present, it looks like we are 4-6 weeks out from the release date. That means that if you pre-order I will get the books to you either a) as soon as I get back from Savannah or b) as soon as they are released.

Fifth, as I mentioned previously, I will be posting a limited blog chronicling the process of filming Manalive (a low budget indie film, so don’t expect Peter Jackson-style expensive video, just the normal text blurts I normally have to offer). Once again, the fact that Moonhunt Productions owns me for March will determine how much goes on the blog. Plus, I expect I will be exhausted from a regular diet of 12 hour days. But we’ll see.

Sixth, I forget. But it was probably pretty important.
