Missional Monday: Surprise Hit Blog Post, Alan Hirsch and I Agree on Something, Coming This Week July 16, 2012

Here’s a recap of last week’s major highlights from the missional conversation:

  • Unlearning the Old Ways of Doing Mission was the surprise hit on the blog last week, with the most Facebook shares.
  • What Does a Missional Toilet Paper Business Look Like? We answered that question last week. If you didn’t see the video, it’s still worth a look (even though the fundraising campaign is already over!).
  • Missional, Like a Boson! was simply one of the most fun posts I’ve put together since launching this blog. A mashup of Facebook memes, geeky science stuff, and missional Methodism — it doesn’t get much better than that!
  • Alan Hirsch and I agree on something — OK we probably agree on a lot of things, but we established last week that we both love and support Phil Wyman and his crazy spiritual merry-making antics at Burning Man Festival. Join us in supporting Phil’s latest project before the July 21 deadline!

There’s been lots of discussion about denominational decline in the past few days, thanks in part to a major op-ed piece in the New York Times. My next major blog post will be addressing this from a missional perspective.

I’m also starting a new series this week as I work my way through reading Francis DuBose’s classic book God Who Sends. So watch for that!
