What about a discussion relevent to singles – 30 and up? April 9, 2009

In discussions involving pornography/masturbation, please don’t forget the singles in the Church, as singles 30 and up are somewhere around a third of the membership of the Church. As bad as infidelity is, pointing out the problems and solutions for those of us not in any kind of a relationship would be a positive addition to your already excellent blog.

Thank you for your constructive feedback.
I agree that the adult single population within the church is large and frequently feels left out of the basic process of conversation regarding many lds issues. One of our church’s biggest strengths is its emphasis on eternal family, marriage and parenthood. However every positive has the potential for the opposing negative. The single population within our lds community faces many unique and difficult issues ranging from overwhelming feelings of failure or unworthiness due to divorce or not having ever married, facing the expectation of celibacy within the context of unfulfilled sexual needs, being treated judgmentally or with pity at church functions (even if not intended), single parent challenges, insecurities or frustrations connected to dating, and I could go on and on.
I will most definitely do my best to incorporate this important population in my discussions. Thanks again for your comments.
