Eid Mubarak!

Eid Mubarak! September 10, 2010

I know I wished you all Happy Eid yesterday, but Khaled had to work today, and I made it with the posse to the Eid prayer!  On Time!  Woo Hoo!!!  We made the prayer, then we went and perused the dollar store toys that they have for the children at the Mosque.  Everyone chose something, and then we ate some Kibbe, French Fries and Cheese Bread with Sunkist (contraband) and Pepsi.  Took photos, chatted with friends and wished everyone Happy Eid.  Then we went out and bought tickets for the bounce houses.  We call them the Jumpy Things for lack of a better name.  We had more fun with friends while playing, but then it started getting hot, more people were crowding the lines and we had exhausted our tickets.

Now we are back at home, and I have coffee in hand while the ladies are having snacks.  I am planning on making some treats after lunch, but I wanted to share with you all that I am soo proud that we made it!  I’m not usually good with big crowds, and I’m always the first one who wants to leave when we go to a holiday function because the buildings are never big enough to house all the Muslims that come out of the woodwork.  But the weather was nice, and I saw so many friendly familiar faces, we stayed until the children were ready to leave.
