The Journals of Knud Rasmussen

Sorry folks for no posts today, except for the cartoon. I was busy renovating my bathroom yesterday and today. No time for thinking, writing or even painting. Which hurts. But the bathroom needed a new tub and now it has one. I did watch, late tonight, The Journals of Knud Rasmussen, a sad portrayal of the conversion of a joyful, simple and generous folk to a sad, complicated and controlled people. It made me angry to watch valuable food being used to persuade people to convert. It also made me realize that we’ve turned incarnation into uncarnation: God hasn’t come to us at all! We have to go to him. What if we contemplated the true depths of incarnation: that God is fully present in who we already are?
