Answering Preparing To Be A Help Meet – Questions To Ask Your Future Husband

Answering Preparing To Be A Help Meet – Questions To Ask Your Future Husband January 25, 2017

AnsweringAnother installment of giving better answers to the questions asked at Debi Pearl’s site message board for the book ‘Preparing To Be A Help Meet’. Many young ladies ask questions on all sorts of different subjects brought up by the book. There was just one big problem, many of the answers stray into either the outright bad and emotionally unhealthy to dangerous. Yes, typical Debi Pearl borderline abusive. Here’s what we’re going to be doing here at NLQ. Every week, once or twice a week, I’ll be posting up one of the questions from the message board and ask you, our readers, to answer that poor soul’s question in a way that is logical,  rational and the best possible solution, in other words 180 degree turn from Debi and friends answers. As always all spelling and grammar in the posting is unchanged from the original author.

Questions to ask your future husband?

Hello all :) About a month ago someone had asked my dad for permission to court me. I was shocked! This person was so strong in faith and I was dumbfounded that he would ask for me.  I knew many girls that longed for him to ask for them and I just felt so honoured. When he came here after I got to know him I greatly admired him. He was so different then all the other guys and I saw his passion for serving Christ. We share similar hobbies and likes. He has a great respect for women. BUT! I set in my heart that although he would be the only person I would say yes to, I wouldn’t go and give my heart to him. I wanted to give my Lord Jesus my heart, not some guy who would just come and go. I knew it just sets up for disappointment. I prayed about it long and hard and said yes! 🙂 We are going to wait though until we’re a little older to start the actual “dating.” My question is… what are some questions that I should ask him about the future, dating, marriage… etc etc? I want to get to know him because we wouldn’t be doing this if we weren’t planning for marriage. However, I don’t want to get into too personal things. Any suggestions? Also know that anything you put will be appreciated. Thanks and God bless! :)

No one bothered to answer this young lady. What would you tell her?
