I keep hearing that Josh Duggar’s lawsuit involving his business, ALB Investments, and that questionable land deal involving Carl Echols has had a resolution. Sources say that Josh failed to show up, and the courts ruled in favor of Carl Echols, confirming his ownership of the disputed land.
Curiously I cannot find any independent real confirmation of this. Not even in local Arkansas media. Merely mentions at a few gossip sites and in messages and emails. So I’m not entirely sure how true this is.
ETA: Links from a sharp eyed reader to court actions on the case.
Looks like this is actually true.
One vlogger has gone as far as to claim this will force Josh into bankruptcy court, as part of the claim is that Josh and ALB must now pay all legal fees and court costs. I don’t see that happening because it would reflect as a bad witness, and we all know that Jim Bob Duggar has been known to throw money at problems to make them go away, and to hide deficiencies involving his family.
Especially in light of the scheduled trial in February 2021. Not sure why there would be a hearing now considering this is scheduled for February. Nothing in any Arkansas media. No confirmation.
But while researching this I found out that all of Josh’s claims against the release of his information over the issues of his incidents with his sisters are over. Shot down, and then that verdict upheld by a court of appeals. No chance to sue over his embarrassment. Dismissed with prejudice, meaning he cannot refile on these issues.
On a side note Jill and Derick Dillard are now claiming in a recent video that they had to sue either TLC or Jim Bob Duggar to get money for being on “Counting On”. It isn’t clear if the lawsuit involved Jim Bob, the network, or both. That might explain why TLC has erased them from the show. I love that this article describes Derick as ‘douchey’
