by Nancy Campbell from Above Rubies β Inseparable
Editorβs note: Nancy wants to throw shame at those mothers that do anything other than hold their new babies and breastfeed them. What is wrong with reading a book or listening to music while holding your newborn as they sleep? Whatβs wrong with allowing others to care for your child as you need?
God intends babies to be nursed at the breast and enfolded in their motherβs arms. We see this in nature. Animals instinctively encircle their little ones to them without having to read books or listen to CDs. What I find hard to fathom is how human mothers can leave their little babies with someone else to look after while they do their career? This is not even instinctive. Mothers and new babies should be inseparable.
QUOTING QUIVERFULL is a regular feature of NLQ β we present the actual words of noted Quiverfull leaders, cultural enforcers and those that seek to keep women submitted to men and ask our readers: What do you think? Agree? Disagree? This is the place to state your opinion. Please, letβs keep it respectful β but at the same time, we encourage readers to examine the ideas of Quiverfull and Spiritual Abuse honestly and thoughtfully.
