No Longer Quivering
Doug Wilson of Blog and Mablog came up with post on sexuality and modern culture that’s uncomfortable enough to make someone gag and throw up just reading it. I suppose nausea is appropriate after a day filled with candy and rich food – Valentine’s Day. He’s kind of late coming to the hating on ’50 Shades of Grey’ phenomenon.
This is one of the craziest responses to the holiday seen in Evangelical Christianity to a holiday devoted to love. Why is it in the most self-righteous versions of Christianity that they skip love and immediately go right to non-vanilla sex? I can assure Wilson that there are far fewer people outside of his bubble that walk around thinking about sex this many times a day. It only goes to prove one of the points we’ve observed about Quiverfull and the Christian Patriarch Movement, that everything always boils down to sex with these people. They might be screaming ‘Praise Jesus!’ but they are secretly thinking ‘SEX SEX SEX!!’
Doug starts off trying to show off his dictionary and thesaurus in this piece titled ‘Happy Valentines Day, Lust Monkeys’.
Lust monkeys? Speak for yourself Mr. Wilson and don’t label us with your foolishness.
Ho ho, how rich he’s calling the whole Fifty Shades thing hypocrisy. You know what real hypocrisy is? Constantly ranting against sex while almost slavishly drooling over it.
Doug wouldn’t know what healthy consensual sex was if it tied him to the bed and covered him with butter.
Word salad without dressing anyone? I cannot parse what his meaning is in much of the piece beyond that Doug hates anyone having sexual license, owning their own sexuality, enjoying sex that isn’t mish-posish in the dark. He’s mad he’s not getting weird sex and cannot go see ‘Fifty Shades’ all on his own.
The only thing Dougie-boy is proving here is that sexuality is warped, perverted, unnatural and obsessional in his weird little world.
