After putting up posts for NLQ for awhile there’s not much that shocks me. The lone exception seems to be the words of one Doug Wilson of Blog and Mablog. So many times I’ve gone into his site and said ‘Say what?!?!’ while dropping my coffee and my jaw. There’s not a bad idea he doesn’t love or anything that smacks of disordered thinking. It’s like a glimpse into the mind of a madman. Now he thinks sexual consent is another idol of those he does not like. Doug Wilson’s word salad on consent is rather bizarre.

As it goes on you find that the thing Doug is mostly upset about is that there are 11 year old kids running around in drag. This piece is nothing to do with consent, merely a vehicle for Wilson to exhibit his squeamishness over a boy dressing in drag. Wilson does not give a flying fig over the issues of sexual consent, he just does not want to see girls dressed as boys, and boys dressed as girls.

Here’s the article from a very right wing site known for sensationalism and embroidering the truth that got Wilson’s panties in a twist.

Let us be very clear here. There is a world of difference between a boy wearing a girl’s clothing and a child giving a performance in a bar. One is clearly legal, and the other might not be legal.

A child being used for sexual purposes is just wrong, but seeing that Doug is reacting to fear-mongering piece in a conservative site I have my doubts as to what happened. Doug goes on to say that a child cannot give sexual consent and that all of us not in his high demand group are reprobates that think everyone has consent. No, no, no, Doug! The law of this land clearly states that those below the age of sexual consent cannot give that consent.

Doug is trying to use this one incident as an excuse for taking away all consent from everyone. He wants women to have no rights to say no to a spouse, or anyone else and this is how he chooses to deny consent? That’s not how any of this works!

He’s confusing consent with gender choices again.
