Three things have I loved, but two I’m pretty sure merit a full link here–in the spirit of it being peak something or other. Last week I watched this video several times in an effort to understand what on earth was going on: Don’t misunderstand me. I don’t really want to make fun of this person for her culinary tastes. If you want to pour spaghetti O’s into a pie crust and add a lot of cheese and bake it…I... Read more

We made it out of January! One month down, eleven more to go of this, the second year of 2020. We celebrated by doing a podcast about the ACNA Bishop’s statement and all our thoughts and feelings on the subject. You will probably not be surprised by any of them. I tried to get Matt to be nice but I did not succeed. Enjoy! Here is the statement. Here is Bishop Hunter’s letter. Here is Matt writing about Revoice. And... Read more

I’m over at Stand Firm this morning. In all my sojourning around YouTube looking for interesting stuff to alarm and delight me, I lost several hours listening to a person who I believe is very famous—she’s one of Oprah’s go-to people—sharing with the wide world an important discovery she made. In brief, her testimony goes something like this: She was very busy, over-busy, because she is a person who knows how to get things done. She is terrible at saying... Read more

Well, it is Friday, and it sure is cold out there, and getting colder, so that’s super fun (by which I mean not fun at all). One Really good Stand Firm Podcast this week. There’s been a lot of stuff about Revoice swirling around because of the ACNA bishop’s statement and they talk about that. Great way to think more about that exciting topic, Concupiscence. Two I am slowly working my way through Carl Trueman’s The Rise and Triumph of... Read more

Me thinking about all the constraints on my time and my person. As usual, I have literally almost no time to blog, and that is mainly because I spent what was probably hours looking at Bernie Memes. I love them so much. I especially like this one. And I also loved the one where Bernie is actually singing the sea shanty. For the first few hours, I felt really bad about wasting so much time, but then it occurred to... Read more

It was not my intention to take two whole days off of blogging. Several bad things happened to thwart my regular writing habits (and podcasting ones). First of all, the cat has decided that the best time for me to wake up in the morning is three—not four, not five—but three. She likes first to greet, to say hi as it were. Then she likes to walk up and down and check on all the things I have on my... Read more

I’m over at Stand Firm today. I was committed to staying away from inauguration stuff, and basically succeeded, except that I did wander around online looking at what everyone was wearing, and also lots and lots of Bernie Memes. Unfortunately, I am married to a person who likes to know what’s going on, and what people are saying, and who then searches me out wherever I am in the house to tell me. So when the whole world was enthralled... Read more

Is it really Friday? And the sky is threatening snow, so that’s something. For reasons I can’t quite remember, I started watching videos on youtube about mindfulness and other kinds of meditation practices, and I happened to find a lot of “Christian” stuff about meditating and then went on and, in morbid fascination, watched different people go through their “mediation” routines, which in many cases was actually some kind of “devotional” practice. I have some things I thought I might... Read more

This is really super long and interesting–well, the first half is good but then it becomes a sort of too repetitive litany…I eventually tuckered out and skipped to the end. After maximalism, and minimalism, now there’s nothingness, the growing trend of people not just unplugging, but trying to escape from reality altogether. The article is both good (though too long, as I said) and a bit breathless, as if this new, shocking trope had never ever been thought of before.... Read more

Latest Picture By Clever Child, Used By Permission That’s actually not true. There’s a ton of stuff to blog about, but I don’t feel like writing about any of it mostly because–and this is really terrible–I actually bought a ring light off the interwebs and would rather sit around trying to figure out how to use it than thinking about any of the stuff that is swirling around in the world. I thought, for example, that instead of writing anything,... Read more
