Did you see the moon last night?
I think the harvest moons in September and October are the most beautiful moons of the year.
I absolutely love this time of year. From Labor Day, right on through the Epiphany; it’s my time of the year. I’m going to take a few days away from writing, even though there is a plethora of things I could write about, both concerning the Church and the continuing horror show that’s playing in Washington.
Yesterday’s White House “conference” on the imaginary group “antifa” was a real show stopper, complete with implied threats from Pam Bondi that the regime would annihilate Americans they decide to label as “antifa,” presumably with drone attacks.
I’m surmising a bit here. What she said is that they would destroy “antifa” in the same way they’re going after the cartels. Since they’ve been using drones to blow up people they claim are in the drug cartels, (with no proof; we’re just supposed to take their ever-lying word for it), I can only assume that this means they’re implying that they intend to start launching drone attacks on Americans they don’t like while claiming that these people are “antifa.”
I want to emphasize that there is no such organization as antifa. It does not exist. They are making it up. I gather a right wing “news” organization put someone (probably one of their cameramen or some such) on air wearing a mask and claimed he was a “former Antifa member.” Then, they did an “interview” with this person. I suppose next, they’ll put a mask on somebody and claim that they are interviewing the Easter bunny.
This is a lie, just like all the rest of the lies Trump tells and his stooges repeat and push for him.
But, this is a lie that could turn very deadly.
Of course, Trump’s apologists are now claiming that “they didn’t mean that” about murdering American citizens at will while claiming that their victims were “antifa.” All I can say is we’ve heard that excuse before. Many times. “He just says things.” “They didn’t mean it.” “He was joking.”
Meanwhile, we’ve got troops in our cities and Rs are fighting tooth and nail for the ignoble cause of doing away with health care for millions of Americans and closing down our rural hospitals.
You don’t have to believe what they say. But you probably should believe what they do.
I began reading Pope Leo’s first Encyclical, Dilexi Te this morning. I had to stop because I’ve got a lot of things I need to do and not much time to do them. But I will say that the press has misrepresented what Pope Leo wrote.
After I read it through a few times and pray about it and think about it, I’ll write about it for you. I think you will find it beautiful and helpful. It will draw you closer to the heart of Christ.
I’ll write more about all these doings next week. But for now, I need to concentrate on my home and family. We’ve got soccer tournaments, birthdays and other wonderful things to do this weekend. So I’ll see you Monday.
Say a prayer for me and mine if you have a chance. I pray for you every day.
I love you, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ.
Rebecca
