Pope Leo Says He’s Not Afraid Of Trump.

I’m not afraid of the Trump administration or of speaking out loudly about the message of the Gospel, which is what the Church works for.

Trump doesn’t like Pope Leo.

Trump is trying to force Pope Leo to fall down and worship Trump, not Jesus.

Trump wants Pope Leo to be a Catholic Franklin Graham.

Trump wants the Catholic bishops to be a whole chorus of Paula Whites.

Trump wants to suck you and me and every other Catholic into the pit of idolatry just like he has our Trump-worshipping evangelical brothers and sisters. He wants us to fall down and worship Donald Trump instead of Jesus Christ. And he wants our Pope and bishops to teach and preach that if we don’t worship Trump, we’ll all go to hell.

Pope Leo has been a big disappointment to Trump. Instead of teaching Catholics to follow Satan’s newest Baal, Pope Leo has been exhorting us to follow Christ and the Gospels.

Meanwhile, Trump has been flailing and failing. My neighbor’s cat would be a better Commander in Chief than Trump. He’s gotten us into a dangerous mess with his Iran War. And he can’t seem to get us back out of it.

It’s really kind of scary, how flat-out incompetent Trump is.

Pope Leo hasn’t done anything radical. All he’s done is say that human beings are made in the Image and Likeness of God and you can’t kill them, gun them down on the streets, or imprison them just because you feel like it.

That’s kinda like Christianity 101. If you don’t agree with that, you don’t agree with Jesus.

Trump’s not happy with Pope Leo. He wants clergy to teach their followers to worship him, not Jesus. And a lot of them do exactly that.

Trump is satan’s newest Baal, and when the pope raises up Jesus, satan gets mad.

Trump’s goons in the state department evidently threatened the pope in private. And Pope Leo just brushed it off and kept on being the pope.

Can you imagine how frustrating that must have been for Trump? It appears that Trump and his mini Trumps get off on using the power of the United States of America to terrify people and break them down. I think it gives them a thrill when they dominate other people and force them to do things they don’t want to do.

They tried this with Pope Leo, and Pope Leo just kept on being the Pope. You might have thought that he had … what’s that word? … faith. You might have thought he had more faith in God than he did in Trump’s earthly power.

So yesterday Trump got out his little thumbs and typed up a post lambasting the Holy Father for teaching and preaching the Gospel instead of teaching and preaching Trump. He followed that by posting a meme of himself as Jesus Christ.

Pope Leo got up early today because he is going on a trip to Africa. He’s going to represent the Gospel and bring the light of Christ to the least of these. Stuff like that.

When reporters asked him about Trump’s attack, he responded with the calm and confidence of a man who knows Whom he has believed. “I’m not afraid of the Trump administration or of speaking out loudly for the Gospel,” he said.

The Holy Spirit gave us the right pope for this time. I thank God for him.

you shattered its power with the strength of peace.

Grant us your peace,

as you did to the women filled with doubt on Easter morning,

as you did to the disciples who were hiding in fear.

the breath that gives life and reconciles,

that turns adversaries and enemies into brothers and sisters.

Inspire in us to trust in Mary, your mother,

who stood at the foot of your cross with a broken heart,

firm in the faith that you would rise again.

May the madness of war cease

and the Earth be cared for and cultivated by those who still

know how to bring forth, protect and love life.

My favorite part is when Trump says that Pope Leo is weak on crime and nuclear weapons. As serious as all this is, I still laugh every time I think about that ridiculousness.
