If you know much about me, you may know that I used to be a “fitness model”. I use this term lightly because every dude on Instagram taking shirtless selfies claims the same thing.

I got into fitness modeling because a friend of mine told me I could never do it. After hearing that, I hired a nutritionist and kicked my own butt in the gym everyday for three months. I was amazed at how fast my body transformed once I learned the best combination of diet/cardio/weights. Shortly after I booked my first magazine shoot. And the rest as they say, is history.

Fast forward to today. I still love to eat healthy and workout but I also love to indulge in the finer things in life- like pizza. I’m “half beast, half feast” as Catherine likes to say. And every once in a while I’ll step on the scale and realize I need to kick it back into gear. Today is that day.

Want to join me?

Though I’m starting today, you guys can start tomorrow: October 14th.  Here are the details

My 21 Day Challenge:

Nutrition

No processed foods of any kind (don’t eat anything that comes in a box)

Lean proteins in every meal (chicken, fish, turkey, egg whites)

No red meat (beef, pork, lamb)

Green veggies in every meal (broccoli, asparagus, kale, spinach)

No simple/white carbs (sugar, pasta, bread, etc)

Carb sources should come from complex carbs (oatmeal, sweet potatoes, brown rice)

Eat small amounts of healthy sources of fat (almonds, avocado, salmon)

No carbs (outside of green veggies) after 3 P.M.

6 smaller meals per day

Cardio

45 mins cardio 6 days a week.

Cardio sucks but you have to do it to achieve results. Diet and weights alone will not help you lose the fat you want to lose.

Weights

45 mins weights 6 days a week.

The goal is to make your muscles burn and to keep that burn alive throughout the entire workout. You should break a sweat during weight lifting. If you’re not sweating, you’re either not moving fast enough or you’re not using enough weight.

This is my challenge for my 21 day challenge in it’s most basic form. Throughout the next 21 days, I’ll detail the specifics of my diet and exercise routines. Good luck everyone!
