The worst part of the evening was when the drunk guy, Ryan M, grabbed Kaitlyn’s butt which understandably made her feel very uncomfortable. Any other bachelorette would have kicked him out right then and there, but Kaitlyn didn’t. It was as if she didn’t think she had that authority. The same drunk guy was sitting in the front yard heckling Shawn E. as he pulled up in the very awesome hot tub car. It was obvious that both women thought he was being an obnoxious ass but neither had the courage to tell him to go away or to even stop.
When I was the bachelor I had my first kiss with Catherine on the driveway at the mansion. I remember she asked me if it was okay if we walked out there (there were no camera guys there at the time). With an almost obnoxious confidence, I said, “Of course we can. I’m the bachelor.” Yes, I realize that sentence makes me sound like a giant tool, but I understood that I called the shots and I was more concerned about having a romantic moment with Catherine than I was getting a good shot of it all.
With the rest of Bachelor Nation, I am excited to see how this season plays out. Hopefully the power dynamic shifts into the woman’s favor once the whole 2 bachelorette dilemma is solved. I guess we’ll have to wait and watch.
