How to get more from the Spiritual Journey
It’s been over 20 years now since I officially started my Spiritual Journey. In the interim I’ve attended many workshops, spent many hours in meditation, overcome many fears and learned to embrace my gifts. I even had relatives ask me what on Earth I was doing!
Still, I continued on and the further I step down this path the more rewarding it becomes, despite the roller coaster rides and the judgement and odd stares from other people.
Review your journey regularly
When I look back at my Spiritual Journey to date I have found that it really helps me to imagine the infinity mirror. You know when you have two opposing mirrors (for example at the fairground) and your image repeats and repeats itself into infinity? I always loved those mirrors as a kid.
I find it really helpful to continue to review my Spiritual Journey in snapshots like the infinity images reflected in two mirrors. What did I know at age 20 compared with what I know now? What year was it that I finally realized I had spiritual medium-ship gifts? What year did I finally decide to tell my husband I saw people in my bedroom at night that were spirits rather than our two girls trotting in and out?
All these steps on the journey can be reviewed and re-embraced in the light of your current spiritual awareness and present level of mindfulness.
Make space for peace and stillness
It’s very important to me to make time for peace, stillness and reflection on my journey. In the early years with my children (17 months apart) time for that was sorely lacking. The upside was I made use of my Autogenics training – a body-based form of meditation – and was able to release and relax within a 2 minute time-frame if need be. Not ideal, but useful at the time.
This doesn’t mean I avoided stress and distress either, but I certainly had more tools than most to cope with the everyday issues.
Appreciate yourself for even taking the first step on the spiritual journey
Always appreciate yourself and be grateful that you have had the awareness and presence of mind to take even one step on the spiritual journey forward. I firmly believe that many of us are awakening to gifts on the planet to help shift consciousness. It doesn’t matter if the shift is simply starting to recycle your trash whereas before you didn’t – or a hunch or gut feel that helped a friend – or an aha moment which may even have changed the entire course of your life. From the perspective of the Spiritual Journey, all these steps have huge value.
All the steps, from baby steps to huge paradigm shifts are sensed by the A-Field or Akashic Field of Gaia, or Planet Earth and will help us all move forward one way or another.
So review your journey, make space for peace and stillness — and therefore mindfulness — and have appreciation for how far you have come. The planet needs you!
