I was back at Fox News this week, talking to Bill O’Reilly about my new book There Goes My Social Life: From Clueless to Conservative. He had me in The O’Reilly Factor’s “No Spin Zone” and here’s some of our conversation.
Donald Trump, our next president, for one, who has convinced me that he is the right man for the job. I’m so convinced that I sit on the advisory board of Women for Trump because I want to work with him to make America great again.
I told O’Reilly several reasons I’m backing him for president:
“He believes in a strong military. He doesn’t like to take any mess from anyone. I know he’s going to put us back into being the superpower that we are. He knows how to do business. He knows how to do good deals, and he knows how to trade. I mean, he’s been a success with this his whole life. This is his life.”
We talked about the minority vote and how I don’t believe that 90% of African-Americans are against Trump. Polls are often unreliable and I just don’t think the number is that high. It is true that blacks overwhelmingly vote Democrat, but I believe Trump’s minority outreach program is in full effect and I have also pledged one of my own that I will be doing on behalf of the GOP. My goal is to counter the Democratic narrative and let the people in the inner cities know that conservative policies will do more for them than the liberal one’s on which they’ve become so reliant.
Education is key in these areas, along with opportunity. But what they’ve learned to live with is the idea that they have no self worth and must look to government to provide for their needs and livelihoods. I’m going to let them in on the dirty little secret that the Democrat’s long-standing plantation mentality has kept them dependent on the government instead of themselves. Conservatism flips all of that on its head and will put them on a better path forward.
These are concepts that I’ve always felt, even if I didn’t realize it. But that’s what my book is about. It’s about standing strong on your principles, even if it costs you friendships and career opportunities. Nothing is worth selling out, no matter how hard it can sometimes hurt.
I said this on the program and I’ll say it to anyone reading this: Even if you hate me, I hope you read this book, because I want you to know that when I speak, I’m not coming from a place of judgment, I’m coming from a place of experience.
