And I haven’t even really talked about character yet. This is just the stuff he’s proud of: his record as a business man, his willingness to stand firm against muslims and (un)documented Latinos.
I understand that HRC is far from perfect and has her own baggage, but you out there in the in swing states, you who want to stay home or vote third party out of protest, we all need you to walk us back from the precipice on this one. Either Hillary or Donald will be president. For the realities that affect our everyday life, and the realities that will set the direction of the world, it needs to be her.
The Same Old, Same Old?
I am an idealist. I hate to concede to pragmatism. And “the same old” is definitely not where there energy has been in this election…
…but sometimes “the same old” addition of jobs to the economy every single month for over five years (!) is better than the alternative.
…but sometimes “the same old” failure of the US to enmesh itself in another unwinnable war on the other side of the world is better than the alternative.
…but sometimes “the same old” leader who has the respect of the global community is better than the alternative.
… but sometimes “the same old” leader who goes to work, pays his/her employees what they are due, fights for what she believes in, and believes the same thing for longer than the time it takes to type out a tweet are all better than the alternative.
Nobody’s asking you to vote for perfection. We’re just asking you to vote for a better future of our country than the alternative would be. Seriously. We need you.
