Putting Values to Work

Putting Values to Work January 26, 2012

I work with people who really value their values.

They seek a clear understanding of their own values and principles. They work to develop a vision for their lives that reflects those values. They are committed to putting their values to work in tangible ways. They desire that as much of their lives as possible demonstrate who they truly are.

It is important to them that each aspect of their lives reflect their core values; their relationships, their work, their interests, their families and communities. Their values are essential to who they are, and they want to experience that essence throughout their lives.

Core values are important. They are the pillars on which our lives are built. It is crucial that each of us recognize and appreciate what is reflected in our lives, and that we continue to clarify our understanding as we grow. Focused times of reflection and listening are vital to that understanding.

It is not enough to recognize and understand our values; it also important that we act to put our values into practice. Each of us is driven to find ways to turn our values into reality.

Many people experience the sensation of waking up after being asleep to themselves. They realize that they have been spending time without being aware of who they really are. They have been living the life of a false self, and have not been in touch with their true potential. They have not been putting their own values to work.

For some it is the result of a traumatic event. For some it is the product of a process of growth and maturity. For each, it is an experience that deepens and focuses their lives and helps them live into their true values.

What are your core values?

How are you putting your values to work?
