What is Your Super Power?

What is Your Super Power? April 26, 2012

What is your super power? What is the skill that makes you a super hero?

Are you faster than a speeding bullet? More powerful than a locomotive? Are you able to leap tall buildings in a single bound?

You may not have the combination of powers that makes you Superman. You do have the unique mixture of core values and passion that makes you your true self. You are able to do something better than anyone else. You have the ability to inhabit your true self and share yourself with the world in ways that no one else can.

I know people who want to become Superman, or Spiderman, or Steve Jobs. Their lives and work are concentrated on becoming someone else. They dream of the day that they will be complete, when they will take on the identity of their hero.

I know other people who have a picture in their minds, or hearts, of the person they are determined to become. They may not have a name, but they are just as convinced that their lives will not be complete until they are able to have this quality, or that set of qualities.

I am convinced that we already have the identity we need. While we work hard to become better at what we do, we are not turning ourselves into someone else. We are actually becoming ourselves, exploring the inner depths of who we truly are. Like the heroes we admire, we are discovering the extent of our own passion and abilities.

Every hero is on a journey, a quest to find the strength within themselves to become the hero they are meant to be.

What is your super power?

What is the quality at the heart of your true self?
