Take Delight Each Day

Take Delight Each Day

Each day is different, filled with wonders of its own.

I experience some days as nearly impossible. Things happen that make me wonder whether I can handle what comes my way, whether it is worthwhile to keep trying. People come into my life who drain me of my love and energy. I seem to be surrounded by conflict and strife.

It is important to remember that it is not the day, nor the things that are happening, nor the people with whom I am dealing that discourages me. There are challenges, and nearly all of them are so challenging because of the way I respond to them.

Even the days that seem to be filled with insurmountable obstacles and unresolvable conflicts also contain moments of wonder and delight.

We have a choice.

We can decide to focus on the difficulties and the things that drain us, or we can focus on the places where we find new life. We can see ourselves as overwhelmed and defeated, or we can recognize and appreciate the strength and wisdom in us and in the people we know. We can be filled with dread and despair, or we can look for the sacred and the holy all around us.

It is important for us to take time each day to listen to silence. We need to remember what life is really like. We need to take time to rest in the divine presence that surrounds us and fills us, to draw comfort and assurance from our deepest core values.

We need to remember what we know to be true, who we truly are.

There is revelry all around us, even as we feel surrounded by struggle and defeat.

What will you find to delight in today?

Where is revelry waiting for you, in the midst of chaos?
