O Anchoress, Where art thou?

O Anchoress, Where art thou? March 20, 2006

Here I is!

I apologize for the quiet weekend…recall a few weeks ago I wrote that a family member had been diagnosed with mesothelioma. Things seem to be going downhill more rapidly than any of us anticipated – a month after chemo is not even begun and his condition is deteriorating daily. This weekend (and part of today, sorry) is about paying attention to all of that – and it’s odd, my brother’s death made me want to write. This one makes me want to shut up and consider where I (all too often) fail in love.

More on that, I’m sure, as things progress. In the meantime, I’m sorry about the silence. I’ll be back a little later today because I want to write something about the Democrats and Republicans that is brewing in my head. Right now, though, I’ve got to get my blood count done and then run an errand for that family member. I’m on a quest to find what he wants and deliver it.

Also, my computer is becoming a pain in the neck, and The Engineer in our household is warning me that I “absolutely” need a new one. We’ll see. This one’s pretty old.

More later. Thanks for hanging in with me.

Meanwhile, as I head out, I must note that there is trouble in Paris. Sadly, one of my predictions for ’06 was “10) Paris will burn, coverage will be scant.”
