My impression: she’s a natural on camera; completely comfortable – no surprise. And clearly a good sport.
The SNL cast, on the other hand, seemed a bit uncomfortable and stiff. Alec Baldwin’s a good sport, too.
Josh Brolin’s monologue got some dead air when going after Bush. I think people have figured out that going after Bush is overdone, and completely playing-it-safe. Everyone bashes Bush; Bush doesn’t bash back, he doesn’t demand your suspension, he doesn’t go after your livelihood.
You want to be daring and edgy? Ask Obama a question that he honestly answers, and be caught on tape doing it!

Palin came back for Weekend Update: Amy Poehler came out and did a rather awesome and fun Palin rap about Alaska and moose.
“When I say OBAMA you say AYERS!
AYERS”
and
“Forget Rev. Wright, I’m the preacher tonight”
Cute, although the kids had the sound turned low, so I couldn’t make some of it out. Palin bopped to the beat. Elder Son’s Sweet Girlfriend and I agreed that when she said, “I’m Sarah Palin, goodnight and have a pleasant tomorrow,” she sounded just like Jane Curtain.
Reactions from around the ‘sphere, latest first.
Victoria at Sundries says second better than first and also noted Palin’s comfort with the camera.
Althouse has an open thread for Palin SNL discussion. Ann calls it “mildly amusing,” which is about right and is disturbed that Palin seemed like a “seasoned actor.” I think as a journalism major and former broadcaster, Palin’s likely just comfortable with the camera.
Hot Air is discussing it. Some predict that the “I say Obama, you say Ayers,” line is going to stick and show up at rallies. That would be awesome, wouldn’t it?
