Before you begin to fear that Shelley Winters has written another volume of her biography, or someone has found the secret papers of Princess Grace, recall that it is Tuesday, and that means the Cotillion gals are at it again.
As a Cary Grant fan, I am especially taken with Mary Katharine Ham’s hosting duties which surround our Mr. Leach with conservative gals who are writing about Condi Rice, NAMBLA, Naral, Bulimia and a minor league ball player going off to war. Cary would have played him in a movie, once upon a time. And he’d be a HERO, too!
The mudbath comes to you courtesy of Not a Desperate Housewife whose collection includes thoughts on Fatwas, Mrs. Sheehan, the journey to faith and soldiers angels, among other things.
Elvis siting is by Right Girl, who is such a girly girl! Yemen makes an appearance here, as do men in uniform, depending on God, hurricanes, base closures…and there is a recipe in there for an Elvis Burger. No, I’m telling the truth.
A Mom and her Blog has pieces on Able Danger, filmmaking in the Middle East, Peter Jennings and more. (Funny isn’t it, how little coverage Jennings’ death got compared to, say, Tom Brokaw’s retirement. Kinda odd, when you think about it…but then again, I suspect Brokaw’s year-long fete was meant to be a discreet kick into a political career down the road.)
Please peruse the writing – some very strong pieces scattered around the Cotillion, hiding in surprising quarters. You’ll like.
