A pal in Birmingham, Alabama writes and sends this picture:
There’s an amazing display in the sky over Birmingham right now! I’m not crazy because other people see it too. Hopefully the newspaper got a decent photo of it.
It’s a beautiful day here with mainly blue skies and thin wispy clouds way up high. More clouds have moved in over the past hour creating a slightly filtered look — kind of like a layer of tissue paper.
There is a perfect ring around the sun — widely spaced. Inside the ring and all the way to the sun it’s a few shades darker, like adding a couple more layers of tissue. For a few minutes, when I first saw it, there was a thin rainbow around the entire outer ring (where you see yellowish gold below). A completely closed rainbow circle. Gave me goose bumps…now the circle is even more pronounced and there’s a brighter gold plus pink around the ring. This is just awesome.
I expect this has something to do with Rita – a solar corona – but there are more things in heaven and on earth, as the saying goes. Wondering if any other ‘Bama folks out there saw the thing, and what you thought?
UPDATE: As expected, I was not able to keep that photo on long as it messed up my site and I don’t know how to trim photos. If I figure it out, I will put it back up!
Reader Adrian was nice enough to send me a link to a terrific shotof a solar halo which is breathtaking, and my pal says this is what she saw.
UPDATE: I like this. A pal emailed the following to me on this subject:
An eminence from the Unseen intrudes upon the Seen. A halo is emblematic of a Divine Presence. 22 is a perfect number in numerology. Gold represents the zenith of the Divine and pink represents the Heart Soul Love. White, as in the fogged atmosphere, is evident of purity and silver is the color of the sun at Fatima. All of which is explainable by reasonable means. And Jesus appeared to be just a man.
So, although it can be explained as a meteorlogical event, as a 22degree halo, called a sundog in high altitude mountaineering, in context with a hurricane diminishing, that should not, and the prayers uttered to God for protection from Rita, I’d just as soon respect this as evidence of things unseen…..God’s Will of Love shining through with its blessing.
As they say in Brooklyn, I got no problem wit’ dat. And as I head to bed and say my night-night prayers, I will remember to praise God for today’s solar halo! (“Give thanks in all circumstances” says St. Paul!)
