… what’s worse than Crocs? These things.

From their site, a man describes his experience trekking through Europe wearing these things. “I saw and felt Europe in a whole new way. I noticed manhole and utility covers I had not noticed in any prior trip. Starting in the Tate Modern Museum in London I appreciated the symmetry and design of European urinals. I felt the varied surfaces I walked on in a new way. Walking on cobblestones had never been such a sensory experience.”

I don’t know about you but I have no, zero, zilch desire to have more sensory experiences with the cobblestones in Italy. If anything I needed a shoe with a 5 inch tire tread. I damn near broke my ankle over there. Nor do I have this pretentious need to experience European public restrooms through my feet.

I found his statement so profoundly odd that I googled the urinals of Tate. Did he mean that he saw the exhibit of urinals at the museum or did they have some super jazzed urinals for public use at Tate. Either way, the experience sounds awful and I’m not entirely sure how the hell these fugly shoes could “heighten his sensory awareness”.

All I gathered from his description is that these shoes offer zero support and protection. Who wants to walk around feeling every rock and cobble poking the bottom of your foot? Pretentious people will buy anything I suppose, even ugly useless shoes.
