Who hasn’t shaved or stopped listening to his ’80s-model Sony Walkman cassette player since he left late night for good? David Letterman. But this near-street drifter is chiming in with those golden pipes once again his disdain for Donald Trump.

It was last summer, when Letterman first woke up from a long winter’s nap to make fun of Trump’s hair, among other things, with the help of fellow comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short in a live-on-stage reading of a new “Top 10” list all about the presumptive Republican presidential nominee:

And now, Letterman is getting ready to grace us with his presence on television once again in an NBC News interview with Tom Brokaw where, according to Huffington Post, he calls Trump “repugnant to people.” He added:

“[H]e’s despicable… and in everybody’s school, you hear, ‘The great thing about America is anybody can grow up to be President.’ Oh, jeez. I guess that might be true.”

Letterman probably knows a little something about being repugnant to people as a married man who admitted to several affairs with his female staffers that he kept hidden for years. I guess that’s another great thing about America, anybody can grow up to be famous and terrible at marriage.

It appears he and The Donald have much more in common than he’d like to believe. That must be why Trump was a guest on The Late Show nearly 30 times. The old “keep your friends close and enemies closer” bit.

Time for another nap, Dave.
